There are these kids at my gym—and I mean kids, they’ve got to be college-aged or maybe even high school—traveling around from station to station in packs of four to six. It happens every summer. School’s out and the gym becomes the new hangout spot.
Usually I’ve got my headphones on and I’m in my own world. But now and then I catch bits of conversations. There’s always one self-appointed leader of the group, coaching the rest of them on form. Last week I overheard him say, with full confidence: “Do it as fast as possible.”
