On flexibility, missed workouts, and why progress doesn't disappear when life gets good
The Reality of Week Two
Week two is done, and let me be the first to tell you that week two always feels great. You’ve seen this routine all the way through once already, and maybe you’re feeling stronger and more confident. You’re bound to see a little progress, perhaps your biggest jump of the program.
This time is no different! I made progress on nearly every movement of the program, adding either weight or reps to what I did last week. But I have to admit, I still had a few hiccups, namely skipping the gym and pushing the third and fourth workouts back a few days. But we got there eventually!
Hey, it’s Carnival season here in New Orleans, and sometimes things don’t go according to plan. You get invited to a party and you’d much rather go there and see your friends than head to the gym. And/or, in my case, you’re in the middle of redoing your bedroom and it’s much more work than you initially expected, even though that always happens and you definitely should have initially expected it. Workouts get pushed to the side. It’s not ideal, but it’s okay.
I had to learn that “it’s okay” the hard way.
